Bayo Ogunnusi is a Partner at Carthena Advisory, bringing over 20 years of distinguished experience across financial services, public sector advisory, SME development, and infrastructure finance.
His career spans both the private and public sectors, with deep expertise in SME banking, financial control, project finance including public-private partnerships, and institutional capacity building. He is recognised as one of Nigeria's foremost voices on small business finance and has been featured by the SME Finance Forum and Proshare on the challenges and opportunities facing SME development in the country.
Before joining Carthena Advisory, Bayo served as Group Head of SMEs at Heritage Bank, where he developed innovative approaches to SME banking that enabled the institution to overcome structural challenges faced by other banks in serving small businesses. His prior experience includes roles at First City Monument Bank, Access Bank, BankPHB, and Phillips Consulting. He also served as Technical Adviser to the Minister of State for Finance, contributing to national economic policy at the highest level.
Bayo is the founder of TQM Capital Limited, a financial management consulting firm with a special focus on small businesses, and created The SME Doctor, a training and capacity development platform that provides online and virtual support to growing enterprises across Nigeria.
